UZCam ("the App", "we", "us") is an instant-film camera app for iPhone, published by KUANG-TSAN HOU. We built it so that UZCam never uploads your photos. This page explains what the App does and does not do with your information.
None. The App does not send your photos, your photo library, your location, your device identifiers, or how you use the App to our servers or to any third party. We do not run servers that receive data from the App.
The App only asks for a permission at the moment you use a feature that needs it, and explains why first. You can change any of these at any time in Settings › UZCam on your iPhone.
| Permission | Why we ask | What it does not do |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | To take your instant photos and motion prints (clips of up to 5 seconds). | Photos and clips are processed and stored on your device only. |
| Microphone (optional) | To record sound while you hold the shutter for a motion print (up to 5 seconds). | Used only during that recording. The sound stays on your iPhone and is never uploaded. If you decline, motion prints are recorded without sound. |
| Photos (add only) | To save a finished print to your Photos library when you tap Save, or if you turn on "Save to Photos when developed". | The App never reads your existing photos. Importing a photo uses the system photo picker, and the App receives only the one photo you choose. |
| Notifications (optional) | To tell you when a photo has finished developing. | Never used for promotions or marketing. These are local notifications created on your device. |
| Motion sensors | To detect when you shake the phone so the photo develops faster. | Readings are used live on your device and are never stored or sent anywhere. iOS does not show a permission prompt for this. |
The App does not ask for access to your location, contacts, or calendar.
The photos you take, your handwriting, and your settings are stored in the App's private storage on your device. Deleting the App deletes this data. If you save a print to Photos, that copy lives in your Photos library and is controlled by you, through the Photos app.
If you tap Share, the iPhone's share sheet sends the print to the app or person you pick; that is your action, UZCam does not receive a copy, and the receiving app's own privacy policy applies. If iCloud Photos is turned on on your iPhone, Apple may sync the copies you saved to Photos, according to your Apple Account settings. That is a feature of Photos, not of UZCam.
If you use iCloud Backup or a device backup, iOS may include the App's data in your backup, according to your Apple account settings. Those backups are managed by Apple, not by us.
UZCam is free to use, with an optional upgrade called UZCam Pro (a one-time purchase, or a monthly or yearly subscription). Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment details, Apple Account, or billing information. The App only asks StoreKit whether your Apple Account owns UZCam Pro, so it can remove the logo marks and watermark and save larger photos. Apple's own privacy policy applies to purchases.
